More details about the BBC's Electric Proms, to be held between October 25 - 29. As already detailed, The Who will be playing their new mini rock-opera, and Damon Albarn and his mates will unleash what Albarn calls the "follow-on to 'Parklife'" which is exciting the hell out of Aloud. There will also be three other nights of unique or special gigs, all of which will take place in the newly-refurbished Roundhouse on Chalk Farm Road. The Guillemots will also be playing one of the gigs.
Along with the gigs will be a specially commissioned film programme, a digital photography competition to win the chance to photograph the Proms, workshops, 'intimate performances' and a night dedicated to the beneficent marvel that was John Peel.
While the word 'workshop' is pretty much guaranteed to strike fear into our hearts, we're quite excited about The Who (although 'Tommy' gave us nightmares for weeks) and did we mention that we're really quite thrilled at Damon Albarn's new project? We'll keep you posted when more gigs are announced.
