Waters_thanks

Waters and his vast array of backing musicians and singers take a bow after a lengthy (but by no means overlong) set to a hugely satisfied crowd.

FIRE!

Just one of the previously mentioned effects, huge plumes of fire accompanying set closer 'Comfortably Numb.'

ON A TRIP TO THE 'DARK SIDE OF THE MOON'

Waters_moon

Thats right Pink Floyd's legendary album recreated live in its entirety, also featuring Floyd drummer Nick Maston keeping time! Goose pimples were on full alert as one of the greatest albums of all time was brought  to life (in fact in the middle of an already Floyd packed set) complete with stunning stage effects.

Massive Attack24 Jun 2006

Massive_attack_wireless

Day 3 was headlined by Bristol trip hop veterans Massive Attack who provided a greatest hits set with more than a little injection of politics. Set highlight was ex-Cochteau Twins vocalist Liz Fraser take to the stage with the group to perform the impossibly beautiful 'Teardrop.' Check out the pulsing light show too!

What to expect from a Flaming Lips show...

Flaming_lips_stage

...basically, you can expect absolutely anything that your imagination can muster. The band's appearance at Hyde Park featured huge space men (they can be seen at the back of the stage), a cover of 'Bohemian Rhapsody', a troop of martians getting down, a flock of Father Christmases throwing shapes, an on stage marriage proposal (the young lady being asked fortunately said yes, it was a beautiful moment to witness!) There was something for everyone and if you didn't enjoy it, check yourself for a soul!

The Flaming Lips carnival rolls into town!

Flaming_lips_ball

The Flaming Lips are notorious for startlingly original performances. They certainly don't come more original than this as singer/guitarist/hamster wannabe Wayne Coyne finds a very novel way to get in touch with his audience!

Wireless day 3: Pharrell

Pharell_wireless

The gentleman in the hat up on stage is none other than Mr Pharrell Williams whose set here at Wireless got the hearts of the ladies fluttering and bodies moving. With a mix of solo songs, collaborative efforts and N*E*R*D favourites it was the perfect set for a summer day.
