We love DIY things here at Aloud and they need support, if only so that not every single festival in the UK is sponsored by beer/phones/chipmunks. Our new favourite festival is End Of The Road. One of the organisers is doing this ALL with his own money AND the line-up is brilliant. If that's not rock and roll, I don't know what is.
One of the many lovely things that the Green Man festival has done for the music world is make people realise that you don't have to be Mean Fiddler in order to set up a festival.
Long-time friends Sofia and Simon realised this, scribbled some ideas down on a bit of paper and now here they are with all their ideas for the perfect festival in one place. In their world, every band's a headliner and plays a decently long set. Security will be nice to you. Everyone will be there for the music and not to get trashed on beer.
Music happens on one stage inside the gardens and the other in a Big Top tent, but what's quite nice is there will be an Open Mic stage where you can rock up and do your thing. If all goes according to plan, the bands will play extra little surprise sets throughout the weekend - and during the evenings new and unsigned groups will do their thing. |
This looks really lovely - and kudos to the man Simon for doing it himself! Legend.
