New festivals for Scotland and, er, Isle of Man

We're sure you'll agree that this news is not nearly as exciting as the Jesse Metcalfe news as it doesn't involve nudity at all. Hmph. It's about festivals though, so that's quite exciting, and new ones. Hurray!

With the gaping hole of Glastonbury showing up this year's festival schedule, we've seen a lot of new pretenders staking their claim on the festival-goer's dollar, and this is all set to continue next year.

Scottish newspapers are reporting a 'mini T In The Park' that could take place on 4-5 August 2007 near Loch Lomond in Balloch Castle Country Park (that's a very precise speculation right there). The all-important local council support that eventually foxed Foundation Festival is present, they're well up for it following money-raking gigs from Oasis and REM over the years.

Around 20,000 tickets will be available for each day which will carry acts on a main stage and a dance tent.

Over on the Isle of Man, the Rock The Rock Isle of Man Festival is set to hit Noble Park near the island's capital, Douglas. Rather optimistically, they're considering Robbie Williams and Coldplay for what will probably be a two-day festival, so they'd better have their chequebook ready. A proposal's been submitted to the local council, and if that's approved it will take place at the end of next July.
